Obituaries C. Lubowicz, Edwin Casimer Lubowicz, 86, of '17 Haggerty St, Adams, died ''Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at his 'home. Bom in Kenosha, on Dec. 22, 1913, he was the son of Casimer 'and Leonora (Zamrowski) He came to Adams as a child with his family and attended Adams schools, graduating from the former Adams High SchooL He worked at the former 'supermarket in Williamstowri and letired in 1976 with 41 years of ser- vice with the company as assistant manager. He was a veteran of World War serving with Battery of the 298th Ann-Aircraft Battalion of the Army in the European 'Theater.

He was discharged on 'Dec. 5, 1945, as a sergeant He was a communicant of St Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. He was a member of the Adams Itost 160 American Legion, Burnette-Bednarz Post 199S Veterans of Foreign Wars, Adams, 'and a life member of the Dr. George Curran Post 996 Veterans of Foreign Wars, North Adams. John, Kate Leitch and Dave Ciuk. $64,000 state matching grant Walter Nollner, 77, taught at Williams Clark Art wins WILLIAMSTOWN The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute has received a matching grant of approximately $64,000 over two years from the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCQ, a state agency. The grant is for organizational support and will be used to enhance the Clark's exhibitions, education and research programs. The first half of the grant is in the amount of $32,030 and is expected to be matched in the second year of the grant, once the state's budget is finalized. The MCC has a budget of $183 million for fiscal year 2000.

The mission of the MCC is to promote excellence, education, access and diversity the arts;" humanities" and interpretive sciences in order to improve the quality of life for all Massachusetts residents and to contribute to the economic vitality of our communities. The not-for-profit cultural industry has a $256 billion economic impact in the state. The Clark impacts the economy of Northern Berkshire by bringing in between 150,000 and 200,000 visitors annually. A grandson, Brian Lubowicz, died in 1977 and a brother, Thaddeus Lubowicz, and two sisters, Loretta Delisle and Wanda Koscielniak, also are deceased. The funeral will be Saturday, March 11, 9:15 a.m., from the Auge '-Paciorek-Simmons Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St, Adams. A liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
