2, 1991. BENNINGTON Local artists are showing their works at the Corridor Art Gallery at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. History is the focus of this exhibit. Vermont is represented with colonial buildings, covered bridges and Morgan horses. There are also national scenes and places, both antique and modern.

Watercolor, oils, photographs, collage, pastels are all represented by artists from Bennington and the surrounding areas. The show is on display at the Corridor Art Gallery until Sept. 30 and is open to the public. Most of the artwork is for sale and all sales benefit the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. STRATTON Strattonfest presents a second year of country and western music.

The Country and Western Festi-g val, Aug. 23-24 at Stratton Mountain, includes a free lawn ticket to Friday evening's concert with the purchase of a Saturday evening lawn ticket. On Friday, Aug. 23, at 8 p.m., Rick Danko, singer, songwriter, guitar and bass player will perform. A former member of "The Band," who accompanied Bob Dylan on his world tour, Danko continues to be a vital and exciting performer.

Also on stage Friday evening is New Riders of the Purple Sage. Saturday, Aug. 24, at 8 p.m. features The Bellamy Brothers with special guest Pam Tillis. Daughter of country superstar Mel Tillis, country music was around the house from the time she was born.

In that environment, Tillis has come into her own in country music. The Bellamy Brothers, from Florida farm country, had their start in 1966 at the San Antonio Rattlesnake Roundup where they stood under a tree and played for free. They are known for such hits as "Let Your Love Flow" and "Satin Sheets." Labor Day weekend, Aug. 30-Sept. 1, marks the Tyrolean Fest faaturad on tho Strattonfait bill Howard and David Bellamy ara Saturday night.

with the Stratton Mountain Boys, The Daby Brothers (an Irish duo) and Konzert Kapelle, a 35-piece GermanAmerican Band. The 28th Annual Stratton Arts Festival, a sale and exhibition of Vermont's finest art works, will take place Sept. 15-Oct. 14 at the Stratton Mountain Base Lodge. 11 Gates to all shows will open approximately one and one-half hours prior to showtime.
