Throughout high school, Joel was an active member of the concert and marching bands and chorus.

He was also a cast member in recent school Hoosick Falls Central School, will attend Hudson Valley Community College this fall. Jamie was an active member of the ski club, soccer team, drama club and a member of the National Honor Society. Jamie was also a recipient of a New York State Regents Scholarship. He currently holds a job with McDonalds in Bennington, Vt. Jamie is the son of Kim and George Maines of White Creek.

JEFFREY GILCHRIST Jeffrey Gilchrist will attend Adirondack Community College, where he will study in the liberal arts program. During Jeffs high school years at Salem Central School, he was involved with FFA, band, stage band, AV Group, ski club, peer counseling, the SADD Chapter, prom committee, yearbook staff, Literary-Magazine and the Mentor Program. In addition to these activities, Jeff was a member of the math team and inducted into the National Honor Society. Jeff was class treasurer for three years, was chosen as Boys State representative and received a Presidential Academic Fitness Award, as well as a Regents Scholarship. Jeff is the son of Robert and Pat Gilchrist of Shushan.

the son of Donna Nemhauser of Cambridge and Neal Nemhauser of Manhattan, will attend Pace Uni versity in Manhattan, where he will major in finance. Throughout high school, Russell has been active in music, performing in many school musicals, playing the saxophone and participating in the senior chorus, as well as the marching and concert bands. He has also acted in plays at the Fort Salem Theatre. In high school, Russell also served as a member of the CCS Building Committee, physics club, business club, ski club, yearbook committee and prom committee, as well as serving as a staff member of the school magazine for two years. He was involved in many longdistance bicycle tours and studied karate for two years.

He has been a member of the New York Road Runners Club for four years. As a senior, Russell was a member of the All-State Band and All-State Chorus. john McGovern John McGovern, a 1990 Hoosick Falls Central School graduate, will attend SUNY Potsdam to major in biology and chemistry. At HFCS, he participated in the computer club, drama club, chess club, student council and the National Honor Society. He attended the All-County Chorus in grades nine and 10 and All County Band in grades nine through 12.

He also plays in the Hoosick Falls Community Band and works part time at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vt. Among his many awards are the Edith Craig Reynolds Scholarship, National Merit Scholarship and New HARVEY HAHN Harvey Hahn, the son of Harvey and Alice Hahn -of Cambridge, will attend Adirondack Community Col lege, where will major in broadcasting and communications. Harvey has been an active member of the marching and concert bands throughout high school at Cambridge Central School. He also served as the football and basketball manager for four years. As a junior, Harvey was a member of the JV baseball team.

In his senior year, Harvey participated in the business club. He was also awarded a scholarship from Council No. 82 of the AFL-CIO. In addition to being accepted at ACC, Harvey was also accepted at Sullivan County Community College and SUNY Geneseo, RUSSELL NEMHAUSER Russell Nemhauser, a 1990 Cambridge Central School graduate and SANDI TRULLI Sandi Ann Trulli will attend Adirondack Community College in September and major in psychology. Sandi is a recent Salem Central School graduate and was active in football cheerleading, basketball cheerleading, the SADD Chapter, pep club, math team, French club, Literary Magazine and was the bookkeeper for field hockey.

Sandi is the daughter of Alphonse and Diana Trulli of Salem. JOEL NICHOLS Joel L. Nichols, the son of the late Philip Nichols and Jane Nichols Bates of Cambridge and a 1990 graduate of Cambridge Central Dan Dobek Quartet Sets Evening of Jazz UBBARDIHAL CAMBRIDGE The Dan Dobek Jazz Quartet will perform a program of mainstream jazz at Hubbard Hall Friday, Aug. 17, at 8 p.m. The program will include music by Dobek, Mercer, Jarrett, Kaper and Washington, Van Heusen, Durham, Montgomery, Rogers and Hart.

The performers will be pianist Dobek, bass player Ed Green, drummer Ted Mackenzie and saxophonist Leo Russo. Dobek, a native of Springfield, has been a resident of Schenectady since 1979. Initially an accordion player, he was active in key music competitions both on a state and national level, winning first and second place tourney in cities such as New York, Philadelphia, Chicago and Kansas City. He later attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he studied piano with Charles Banacos and Emanuel Zambell. In the Chicago area, Dobek has played with John Bishop, former guitarist for Ray Charles, and has also worked with George Brown, drummer for the late Wes Montogomery.

Recently, he presented a program of his original compositions at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall in Troy. He is also a full-time keyboard instructor and piano teacher and is the proprietor of The Keyboard Studio in Rotterdam. Green, known locally to many as kindergarten teacher at Cambridge Central School where he has taught for the past 20 years, attended Mannes College of Music in New York City. Originally a trombone player, he performed with Les Elgart, Billy May, Buddy Morrow and Kai Winding. Presently an active work has been strongly influenced by Evans, he performs regularly with groups.

4 t'T mV is DAYTON MAXWELL Dayton Thomas Maxwell, a recent graduate of Salem Central School, attend SUNY Cortland in September, where he will major in physical education and minor in sports management. As a junior, Dayton was chosen for prom court and received the Presidential Academic Fitness Award in grade nine. Dayton participated infootball, track and the bowling club. He served as president of the senior class. Dayton is the son of Victoria Maxwell of Salem and the late Day-ton Maxwell of Jackson.

JAMIE MAINES Jamie Maines, a 1990 graduate of OBITUARIES HELEN M. BLOOM CAMBRIDGE Helen M. Bloom, 75, of Nesbitt Road of Cambridge, died Aug. 5, 1990, at Mary McClellan Hospital, after a long illness. She was born Nov.

23, 1914, in Troy, the daughter of Patrick and. Helen Uline McKeown. Mrs. Bloom was a graduate of Russell Sage College and received her masters degree from SUNY Albany. She was a retired school teacher, and at the time of her retirement, she served as guidance counselor for the Lansingburgh High' School in Troy.

She also taught English and business at Knickerbocker Junior High in Troy. Mrs. Bloom was a communicant of St. Patricks Church of Cambridge. Survivors include her husband, Alfred J.

Bloom of Cambridge; a daughter, Nancy Greer Bloom of Coila; a brother, James McKeown of -several -nieces and nephews. Private funeral services were conducted at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Charles A. Ackley Funeral Home of Cambridge. Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Cambridge Valley Rescue Squad of Cambridge. MARIAN PRIEST WHITE SALEM Marian Priest White, 83, of Ridge Road in Queensbury, died, July 29, 1990, at her home.

She was born in Salem and attended Washington Academy. She later taught in a one-room school-house, the Rooster School, in North Hebron. Mrs. White was active in the Amaranth, the Harrisena Community Church and the Parent-Teacher Association, serving as treasurer for several years, while her children attended Glens Falls schools. Her husband, Kenneth E.

White, died before her. Survivors include one son, Robert K. White, commander in the United States Navy, retired, of North Kingstown, R.I., and Cleverdale; one daughter, Mrs. James Jones of Colorado Springs, two sisters, Mrs. Edwin Funnell of South Hampton and Mrs.

Charles Rowe of Warwick; one brother Ernest Priest of Putnam Valley; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services -were conducted Thursday at the Harrisena Community Church, by the Rev. Lamont Robinson, pastor. Burial was in the Pine View Cemetery in Queensbury. Arrangements were by the Sullivan, Minahan and Potter Funeral Home of Glens Falls.

The family suggests that memori- als take the form of donations to the Bay Ridge Rescue Squad. JAMES H. MANCHESTER PETERSBURG James H. KARRIE LENHARDT Karrie Jean Lenhardt will attend the University of Vermont, where she will study zoology or environmental studies. During Karries high school years at Salem Central School, she was involved in field hockey, peer counseling, math team, Literary Maga- -zine, softball, French Club, yearbook editor, Pep Club, football statistician, jazz band, accompanist for senior chorus, prom decoration committee, All-County, NYSSMA and the Mentoring Program.

In addition, Karrie was a member of the National Honor Society, First Team All Stars for field hockey in the Wasaren League and for The Post Star. She was also on the honor roll and received the Presidential Academic Fitness Award. Karrie is the daughter of George and Andrea Lenhardt of Rupert, Vt. Manchester, 34, of RD 1, Route 22 in Petersburg, died Aug. 6, 1990, as a result of a two-car accident at Prosser Hollow and Route 22 in Petersburg.

Born in Bennington, on Oct. 27, 1955, he was a son of Hugh L. and Marion Trinemeyer Manchester. He was a 1974 graduate of Berlin Central School. After graduation from high school, he worked for Taconic Plastics Company in Petersburg and W.J.

Cowee Inc. in Berlin. In 1976 he moved to Morgan City, and worked in the Gulf of Mexico on oil rigs and for the St. Marys Steel Company in Morgan City. In 1986 he moved back to Petersburg and worked out of Local No.

452 Laborers Union in Troy. In 1988 he went to work for the C.D. Perry Construction Company in Bennington. At the time of his death, he was a general foreman on the Hoosic River Dam Project in Schaghticoke. Survivors include his parents, Hugh L.

and Marion Trinemeyer Manchester of Petersburg; three sisters, Katherine Ann Mishkin of South Portland, Melinda Sue Lanza of Reston, and Karen Jean DeCarlo of Petersburg; one brother, Martin LeRoy Lee Manchester of Chesterfield, two sons, Cassidy Jade Manchester and Cody James and his wife, Martha Laura Illgen Boersma Manchester of Petersburg. Services were held Thursday at the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, with the Rev. David D. Winchell, pastor of Petersburg Baptist Church, officiating Burial was in the Manchester lot in the Griswold Cemetery in Petersburg, at the convenience of the family.

WILLIAM T. COOPER, SR. NORTH ADAMS, MASS. William Thomas Cooper, Sr 60, of 45 East St. in North Adams, died Aug.

10, 1990, at his home. Born in Bennington, on Oct. 12, 1929, he was the son of the late Henry Franklin Cooper and Helen Clark Cooper. He was educated in Bennington schools and graduated from Catamount High School with the Class of 1949. Mr.

Cooper was a veteran of the Korean War and served with Com BIRTHS WILSON A daughter, Cheyenne Summer Wilson, was born to Justin and Dawn Wilson of Cambridge, July 18, 1990, at Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge. Cheyenne weighed six pounds, 14 ounces and was 19 inches long at birth. Cheyenne has four sisters, Bobbi- Jo, Jennifer, Felicia and Sarah, and brother, Jedediah. Paternal grandmother is Earline JAY PELTON Jay Howard Pelton, a 1990 graduate of Salem Central School, will attend the Vermont Institute of Massage Therapy in Burlington', where he will study for one year to become a licensed masseur. Jay has participated in cross country, basketball and track for four years.

This year, Jay served as a peer leader to work with sixth grade students, and he earned a varsity sports letter. Jay is the son of John and Marion Pelton of Rupert, Vt pany of the Fourth Medium Tank Battalion of the U.S. Fol- lowing military service, he was em ployed with Sprague Electric Co. as'1 a group leader in the salvage de- partment. He then transferred to Commonwealth Sprague of North Adams when that company was established.

He retired in 1989 with more than 30 years of service between the two companies. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Frank R. Stiles Post No. 125 American Legion of North Adams. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, the former Donna Lee Shaw, whom he married July 9, 1955; four daughters, Cynthia Lee Gay of Adams, Kimberly LaVigne and Melissa J.

Wheeler, both of North Adams, and Edith L. White of Florida, a son, William T. Cooper, Jr. of North Adams; a sister, Martha Hall of North Bennington, a brother, Henry Cooper of Hoosick Falls; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Monday at the Flynn and Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, 74 Marshall North Adams.

The Rev. David Mangun, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial followed in the family plot in Southview Cemetery in North Adams. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the funeral home. JOHN DiPALO WHITE PLAINS, John DiPalo, 38, died Aug.

10, 1990, at St. Agnes Hospital after a long illness. Born in the Bronx, Feb. 28, 1952, he was the son of Carl DiPalo of the Bronx and the late Helen Sopezi, who died in 1988. He resided in the Bronx and was educated in schools there.

He is survived by four sisters. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls, where a Mass of Christian Burial was offered. Burial followed in St. Marys Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. There were no calling hours.

Local arrangements are by the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main St. in Hoosick Falls. Marshall of Fort Worth, Texas, and maternal grandparents are Larry Doucette of Bennington, and Donna Doucette of Key West, Fla. COLE A daughter was born to Roxanne and Eric Cole of Buskirk, Aug. 1, 1990, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vt.
