He found that he could be a better musician if he learned more about muscles and the way that they worked. Hyman said that there are many fads in health foods and alternative medicines, but he is more interested in what really works and why.

Teaching this acupressure course is one way that he can benefit the people in the community. He is interested in a responsible approach to health care. According to Hyman, tljere is no way an individual can replace a doctor, but he believes that there are things a person can learn, that might make visits to the doctor needed less frequently. Sports injuries, back pain, headaches, cramps and twisted limbs are some of the things accupressure can help with. Ive done my homework he said and, I've weeded out some of the nonsense.

Hyman said that although his techniques are not mainstream, there are techniques to relieve back pain which could be very helpful to the average wife whose husband suffers from this affliction. Perhaps your child is an athlete, there are ways to lessen the pain of a knee or ankle injury, and in some cases speed the healing process. Hyman uses his own leg injury as an example. Hyman was raised in North Bennington and is the son of the renowned novelist Shirley Jackson. He said that he just did not like the dry climate in California, and so came back to the northeast and settled in Hoosick Falls. She also said that there are not many people under 20 getting married these days, and that most couples have a two-job relationship, which makes it easier to purchase and afford a home.

The average age for a first time home buyer in the Hoosick area according to Leva is about 24 years of age. There are three major things that a bank considers before it lends money: The ability to pay, based on earnings. Credit rating is also very important to the bank. If a couple hasnt had time to establish a good credit rating, there are other ways to go. Twelve months of rent receipts are sometimes acceptable to the bank, and many times a gift letter, a note from from a family member who is willing to give some or all of the initial money that is needed, is accepted.

The appraisal on the house is also very important. If the bank is going to invest its money in your new home, it must be worth the purchase price. If you are looking to purchase a new home for the first time remember, good rapport with your agent, reasonable expectations, and a great deal of patience will get you there The American dream is not what it used to be. It is not a white pickett ferice. Sometimes its a two-family house, Leva said.

By NOELL deLEON Press Post Reporter It is called "the great American dream, but these days the dream of owning a home is becoming more difficult for newly married young Americans. Inflation, interest rates and living from paycheck to paycheck has made the first time buyers plight almost a nightmare. The average priced home in Hoosick Falls is about $72,000, according to Marge Marker of Bryce Real Estate. Marker said that many couples must borrow from their parents because they simply cannot save the money needed for the downpayment and closing costs. These costs can add up quickly.

Marker said that' many young couples have a serious decision to make even before they go out to look for their first home. The question of starting a family is no longer a decision couples can make lightly. Children cost money, lots of it. With the economy demanding that both people in a marriage work to make ends meet, childcare plays an important role in the family finances. The ability to save the $3,000 to $8,000 needed for the downpayment and meet living expenses at the same time has put the idea of starting a family on the back burners for many young marrieds today.

There is hope for those first time home buyers out there. Smart plan father and mother were both artists in their own right. Growing up in an artists home she became involved with art at a very early age. She has studied her craft at several schools throughout the northeast, and has studied with her mother who is also a painter. Sussman has had 11 showings of her work from Florida to New Hampshire and said that being an artist is not as glamourous as some people tend to think.

Its partially inspiration, but mostly hard work. Its a struggle, and almost a curse because you always feel that you should be working, Sussman said. dramatically change the appearance of any home. Both Marker and Leva agree that many couples expect to move right into the kind of home their parents live in. This expectation is unrealistic because their parents homes might have cost $30,000 to $40,000 less when they bought it than the same home would cost today.

They were also in agreement that a two-family home might be the right choice. An income to help pay the mortgage is sometimes just enough to get a couple into their first home. Leva said many new home buyers are nervous, and therefore they should establish a good rapport with money a person can borrow for a home in Rensselaer County to about $60,000, which brings many unreachable homes closer to a price first time buyers can afford. Gale Leva, of Valerie Sutton Century 21, said that many couples can qualify for an FHA loan and move into a home for no money down. Sometimes the closing costs can be figured into the initial loan.

About 10 percent of the total price of the house is what is needed for the closing costs, which include lawyers fees, bank fees, survey costs' and title insurance.
